Service Description
This 2 hour workshop is designed to support women and offer tools to embrace the physical, emotional, and mental challenges of midlife and beyond through kettlebell trainingwith a somatic awarenes. This workshop will provide you with the "whys" and "hows" of your kettlebell practice, empowering you to understand the purpose behind each movement. By gaining deeper insight into the techniques and benefits, you'll experience greater motivation and achieve more significant results in your training. You'll also develop a greater appreciation for your body’s capabilities and the positive impact kettlebell training can have on your overall well-being. Real-life movements: Kettlebell exercises mimic natural movements (hinging, twisting, lifting) for improved balance, mobility, and independence. Importance for those over 40: Hormonal changes can reduce muscle mass, bone density, and metabolic rate, making strength training essential. Prevents risks: Without strength-building, we face increased risk of injury, slower metabolism, and lower energy. Kettlebells provide an effective solution.Combat muscle loss: Strength training in midlife helps counter muscle decline and boosts metabolism. A somatic approach to kettlebells emphasizes tuning into the body’s sensations and movements. This enhances interoception (sensing internal body states) and proprioception (awareness of body positioning in space). This awareness improves posture, body image, and coordination, which can have profound effects on mental clarity and emotional balance. . ocus on technique enhances the mind-body connection, which is crucial for both physical performance and emotional awareness. As you refine your movements, you become more aware of how your body feels, which can lead to greater self-awareness. Through kettlebell training, individuals can learn to set intentions for both their physical practice and their emotional well-being. For instance, before a set, one might focus on breathing deeply and releasing pent up emotion or the power of 'I can', or keeping calm when things get tough. This conscious attention to both movement and mindset becomes a tool for affirming self-worth and reinforcing a sense of personal power. The workshop is not a workout as such, but a combination of movement, theory, learning, and embodiment. Please come dressed to workout, with warmer layers to self regulate throughout the session.
