From the age of three, Joanne Davidson’s movement journey began as she followed along with her mother’s yoga sessions on television. This early spark of curiosity ignited a lifelong passion for movement, well-being, and embodied awareness—one that has evolved into decades of coaching, mentoring, and inspiring others to move with joy and freedom.

Joanne started formally training and coaching yoga in her twenties, offering sessions part-time throughout the 1980s. After raising a family, she expanded her expertise, training as an Exercise to Music (ETM) instructor and coaching a combination of aerobics and yoga. In 2001, she completed her Nia White Belt Training, introducing a whole community of students in Sussex to the joy of Nia Dance and Yoga. Over the years, she progressed to the Nia Black Belt, refining her ability to blend dance, martial arts, and healing movement into an expressive, fluid, and deeply empowering experience.

A lifelong learner and innovator, Joanne continued expanding her movement repertoire, training in Gentle Somatic Yoga (inspired by Hanna Somatics) in 2018. This profoundly influenced her approach, infusing even her traditional Hatha Yoga sessions with a greater sense of ease, sensory awareness, and nervous system regulation. She is particularly skilled in helping clients unravel tension, rediscover natural movement, and build confidence in their bodies through her embodied, science-informed, and deeply intuitive coaching style.

Beyond movement, Joanne has a deep interest in the mind-body connection and emotional well-being. She completed a year-long course in Person-Centred Counselling, as well as additional training in Gestalt Counselling Skills during lockdown. This background allows her to create a safe and supportive space for her clients, integrating self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and mindful movement into her coaching.

One of the hallmarks of Joanne’s coaching is her brilliant sense of humor—and she has the credentials to prove it! As a qualified Laughter Yogi, she understands the profound impact of joy, playfulness, and laughter on both physical health and emotional resilience. Her sessions are filled with lightheartedness, spontaneity, and moments of genuine connection, helping clients release tension and experience movement as something deeply uplifting, freeing, and fun. She believes that laughter moves through the body like a wave—loosening rigidity, rewiring stress, and bringing the nervous system back into harmony.

At ENERGYBODi Sensation, Joanne brings her wealth of experience, warmth, and infectious enthusiasm into every session. Whether she’s guiding a flowing yoga practice, a somatic exploration, or an energetic Nia experience, her coaching is a celebration of movement, self-expression, and well-being. She empowers her clients to move with freedom, confidence, and joy—helping them reconnect with themselves through movement that is both intentional and intuitive.

With her unique combination of wisdom, humor, and embodied practice, Joanne creates an experience that is not just about movement—but about living fully, laughing often, and embracing life with open arms.
