Somatic Yoga: Becoming an Expert in Yourself At ENERGYBODi, we’re not just here to help you stretch—we’re here to help you feel. Somatic Yoga is all about becoming more of an expert in yourself. As Jo says, “The goal isn’t to perform a perfect pose, but to connect with how it feels inside—to explore your own stability, ease, and aliveness.” Unlike fast-paced classes that focus on form or flexibility, Somatic Yoga slows everything down so you can truly listen to your body. You learn to sense interoception—what’s happening inside your body—and proprioception—how you’re moving through space. This deepened awareness helps you find balance between your inner and outer experience. Here’s what that looks like: 💫 You move within your comfortable range—never pushing or forcing 💫 You feel your breath moving you 💫 You gain insight into how your body stores tension, and how to let it go 💫 You come out of class feeling grounded, clear, and lighter—physically and emotionally Clients often say, “I didn’t know how much I was holding until I felt it release.” This is the magic of the somatic approach—it’s healing, intelligent, and profoundly human.
