Service Description

Pilates Meets Kettlebells Mondays 6.30pm | 60 minutes Commencing Monday 28th September 2026 Strength. Power. Balance. Mobility. Control. Pilates Meets Kettlebells is a 60-minute fusion session combining balance and coordination work, kettlebell training, a short burst of plyometrics followed by a PIlates core moves and finsh with breathwork and nervous system reset. We begin with 10 minutes of preparation using balance work, coordination, mobility and deliberate breathwork to organise the body before adding load. This is followed by 25 minutes of kettlebell training, including movements such as deadlifts, swings, windmills, carries and single- and double-handed work. One of the reasons I like kettlebells is that they allow us to train not just strength, but power. Strength is your ability to produce force. Power is your ability to produce that force quickly. As we get older, this becomes increasingly important for things such as reacting to a stumble, stepping quickly onto a kerb, climbing stairs, changing direction and moving with confidence. Power is part of what keeps movement feeling responsive, dynamic and youthful. Which is why we then add 5 minutes of controlled plyometric work. This might include small jumps, hops, heel drops or quick changes of direction, depending on the individual. Plyometric work helps us practise producing and absorbing force, while also supporting balance, reaction and imprtantly bone density. Please do not feel dauted by this. We all begin somewhere.. At ENERGYBODi, you are not fixed to one class weight. We have a range of kettlebells because the right weight will vary from person to person and from exercise to exercise and that choice may change from week to week. We want you to challenge yourself, but also to adapt the load, range and exercise appropriately. The final 20 minutes become a Pilates challenge, bringing the focus back towards control, trunk stability, mobility, alignment and proprioception. Light resistance can often make a Pilates movement much more demanding by increasing the need for precision and control. We finish with focused breathing, allowing the heart rate to return towards baseline and the body to move from effort into recovery. This class is suitable for anyone wanting to improve strength, power, balance, mobility, coordination and confidence in movement. You do not need to be experienced with kettlebells, and exercises can be adapted to suit different levels.
