Pilates Essentials is our fundamentals track (alongside Hatha Yoga Essentials) and the perfect place to start, reset, or refine. Taught by Heather Parsons—Pilates teacher of 20+ years and a qualified Osteopath—this class slows things down so you can learn precisely, progress safely, and feel results that last. What you’ll actually learn (and why it matters) Neutral spine, in detail: Find it, feel it, and use it as your safest, most efficient base for everyday movement and training. True core stabilisation: We train the entire system that stabilises your spine—deep core, pelvic floor, breath, back and hips—not just “abs”. Breathing that leads movement: Techniques that initiate motion, support the spine, soften unnecessary gripping, and calm your nervous system. Weekly focus, fresh sessions: Each class varies (alignment, mobility, strength, balance, coordination) with clear options for every body. Five signs you’re in a real Pilates class (not a BLT Legs bums and Tums class) Breath changes how you move. Not just “inhale/exhale”, but breath that initiates. It supports your spine, eases tension, and steadies your state. In genuine Pilates, breath isn’t background noise—it’s integral to every rep. Small movements, big revelations. No intensity for its own sake. Sometimes you’re barely moving, yet your deep core lights up, awareness sharpens, and everything connects more than in a 45-minute circuit. The spine is the star. We roll it, extend it, rotate it, and stabilise it. The goal isn’t a flatter belly—it’s restoring the natural movement your body was born with. Silence is intentional.
