A Different Kind of Studio
ENERGYBODi was created to feel very different from a typical gym or fitness studio.
The space is designed around how your surroundings affect the way you feel, move and respond.
From the moment you enter, the aim is to create an environment that feels calm, welcoming and intentionally different.

2. The ENERGYBODi Sensation
Our business name, The ENERGYBODi Sensation, is a deliberate play on the word sensation and on the experience of the senses themselves. We are interested not only in how the body moves, but in what it feels, notices and responds to. Sound, light, scent, touch, movement and environment all become part of the ENERGYBODi experience.
Fine tune your sensory feedback. Just as an artist refines their eye for colour or a musician develops a more sensitive ear, we can learn to notice the information coming from within the body with greater clarity. Breath, balance, tension, effort, ease, warmth, restriction, comfort and pain all provide feedback, and becoming more attuned to those sensations helps us become more present and more body-literate. This awareness allows us to respond more intelligently to what the body is telling us — to recognise the difference between useful challenge and unnecessary strain, between restriction and support, and between discomfort and pain. It also opens up more room for appreciation and pleasure: noticing strength, rhythm, release, softness, ease and the simple experience of inhabiting ourselves more fully. Our bodies are not simply vehicles that carry us from A to B. They are a lived experience, changing from moment to moment, and learning to sense them more clearly is a skill. The ENERGYBODi Sensation reflects that idea — using both our external senses and our internal sensations to deepen how we move, how we respond and how we experience being in our bodies.

3. Sound
Music is carefully curated for each class rather than left to a radio station or generic background playlist. Rhythm, tempo, texture and mood can completely change the feeling of a session, whether the class is restorative, focused, playful or powerful. Music is used intentionally as part of the experience rather than simply filling the silence.

4. Light, Scent and Atmosphere
Warm, adjustable mood lighting, subtle essential oils, plants and natural textures help shape the atmosphere of the studio. The plants are more than decoration: greenery can help a space feel calmer, softer and less clinical, while also bringing in colour, texture and a stronger connection with nature. There are no television screens competing for attention and no constant visual or auditory noise, allowing the studio to feel immersive, comfortable and easy to settle into.

Essential oils are also diffused into the room and chosen to suit the season and the mood of the class — eucalyptus blends can create a fresh, cooling sensation in warmer weather, while cinnamon, orange and clove bring warmth and a distinctly seasonal feel in winter and have antimicrobial properties. Calmer oils such as chamomile can support a more restful atmosphere, while orange can make the room feel brighter and more uplifting.

5. Barefoot Movement
Our cushioned studio flooring changes the physical experience of movement from the moment you step onto it. We work barefoot, allowing you to feel the ground beneath your feet and become more aware of balance, pressure, movement and connection through the body. It also makes floor-based work softer, warmer and more comfortable on joints.

6. Not a Typical Gym
There is deliberately no black/ grey gym aesthetic, and no sense that you need to perform for the room around you. ENERGYBODi is designed as a bespoke movement and wellbeing space rather than a conventional fitness environment. The emphasis is on how movement feels, how the body responds and how the environment supports that experience.

7. No Rush
We also wanted to remove the rushed feeling that often comes with tightly scheduled classes. A 15/30 minute changeover is built into the timetable, so a 60-minute class is genuinely 60 minutes, without another group immediately waiting at the door. There is time to arrive, settle in, complete the session properly and leave without being hurried. Its an opportunity to caht, have a brew, get to know people or ask questions before or after your session.

8. A Hidden Gem in Bacup
ENERGYBODi is a small hidden gem inside an unassuming former pottery mill in the centre of Bacup, Rossendale. The building was converted in 2019 by Jess Goggins and her father, Ste Goggins, and today operates with a roofing business below (The Female Roofer' and ENERGYBODi above.
Behind the modest exterior sits a bespoke wellbeing studio created for movement, strength, restoration and a distinctly sensory experience.
