About the Event

EMBODi Aerial Yoga in Rossendale is a wonderful practice that beautifully weaves Yoga and Pilates along with a silk hammock for a whole Body/Mind experience that is exhilarating, confidence building, fun, builds trust and achievement and appreciation in your body.

Our Fundamentals will give you an introduction, and explain the hand moves and grips, as well as core positions.  The groups are kept small, so plently of time to ask questions or re run through moves or positions youre not sure or really enjoyed!  So whether you wanto to try something new and have fun for one session or then follow on from this to drop into our regular classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at ENERGYBODi, we look forwards to meeting you.

Suspended from the ceiling it is used to ease pressure, and create space in your joints, decrease compression in your spine, increase mobility and fluidity, improve your balance and co-ordination.

Aerial engages the upper body and shoulder girdle in its optimum way, i.e. reaching overhead, swinging, hanging your body weight on your arms and also pulling up from a hanging position.

This is what the shoulder was designed to do.  Children's playgrounds once upon a time were full of monkey bars, its a great shame they are rare now.  Children's bodies, as they are developing are missing this very important movement. Not only does it build a strong and stable shoulder, it releases a lot of tension around that area. We would have far less incidence of frozen shoulder and impingement if people were using their shoulders more in this way.  What do you do in your daily life or exercise routine that requires you to reach over head and release your body weight down?  This alone would ease so much tension in the neck and shoulders.
