Somatic Yoga

We offer four weekly Yoga practices at ENERGYBODi. All are an embodied practices; learn to lead the movement from your own internal guidance, personalize your practice, alongside the teachers guidance. Everybody is different, not one size fits all. By increasing your felt sense intelligence, you gain skills to move well and increase your comfort, pleasure and strength not only in class but everyday.

Hanna Somatic Yoga is not a different style of yoga but rather a movement therapy, a way of re-educating the way our brain senses and moves the muscles.  Based in the work of Thomas Hanna, An original philosopher/teacher, Hanna developed a theory of somatology and of the field he named Somatics. 

Hanna Somatics is a rapidly effective form of neuromuscular (mind-body training) movement re-education that goes directly to the root cause of most chronic muscular pain: the brain and the way in which it senses and organizes the muscles and movement.

Somatic Yoga can be used to help:-
-Release and reverse neuro-muscular pain (chronic and acute)
-Painful joints and muscles
-Neck, shoulder and back pain
-Hip, knee and foot pain
-Repetitive use injuries
-Poor posture
-Accident traumas and whiplash
-Breathing problems
-Frozen shoulder syndrome

Been unwell? Lost mobility? Need to begin afresh? Or for those who want to dive deeper, & want more from their Somatic Yoga practice.

Our muscles can become tight or restricted due to development reasons, habitual patterns, emotional stress, injuries or trauma. Small, slow and gentle movements are used to re-educate the brain so that it can relax and move these muscles more functionally.

Begin a journey of gentle, rehabilitating, strengthening, soft and slow Somatic Yoga exercises, and practices for mind, body and spirit. Working with the recovery of physical and mental stress and  trauma related recovery.

Saturday Hatha YogaFlow on a Roller 11.15am

Lovely sequence of Yoga asanas,  through a sequence of Standing, sitting and lying asanas using a roller to support and balance your posture. 

Most people have no idea how good their body can feel!
