Somatic BODi Yoga  is not a different style of yoga but rather a movement therapy, a way of re-educating the way our brain senses and moves the muscles. 

Based on the technique of Hanna Somatics, it is a gentle, sensible, and safe approach to recover from chronic pain and have ease of movement throughout your life. Somatics is sensory-motor training that works for all kinds of stress, injury, and movement problems.

Learn how to move “from the inside out,” recover your well being and enhance your life! Most people forget or have no idea how good the body can feel! 

Our muscles can become tight or restricted due to development reasons, habitual patterns, emotional stress, injuries or trauma. Small, slow and gentle movements are used to re-educate the brain so that it can relax and move these muscles more functionally.

It is a safe, gentle and common sense approach to reverse chronic pain. It is the only method of pain relief and sensory motor training that targets the condition of SENSORY MOTOR AMNESIA (SMA).

Sensory Motor Amnesia is the condition of chronically-tight muscles that have learned to stay contracted due to repeated and reflexive response to stress such as accidents, injuries, surgeries, repetitive tasks, and on-going emotional stress. The resulting patterns of muscular contraction that develop result in such common conditions as chronic back pain, neck, shoulder and hip pain, limited mobility, joint pain, poor posture, shallow breathing, and uneven leg length.

Somatic BODi Yoga can be used to help:-

We run as six week term courses, please see our timetable plus we have a Somatic BODi Yoga Workshop in-between every term. You can use the workshop as a prior set up for the upcoming course or as a stand alone workshop if you can not make classes and you would like to learn skills you can practice at home.  Booking essential.
